I care for ALL animals!

Au pair is a French term meaning "on par" or "equal to," denoting living on an equal basis in a reciprocal, caring relationship with a host family and their loved ones.

Your pets don't have to miss you! Pet au Pair of New Orleans, owned and operated by Kelly B. Jason, offers professional dog-walking and pet-sitting services in your home. Each service visit is customized to make you and your pets happy. Because the security of your home and pets is primary, I am fully insured, bonded, and Red Cross-certified in pet first aid and CPR. Pet au Pair handlers are also trained in pet first aid, emergency restraining techniques, and animal CPR.
We're happy to serve most New Orleans neighborhoods: Downtown, Garden District, Irish Channel, Uptown, Mid-City, Bayou St John, and Lakeview. If you live elsewhere, please call--we may be able to accommodate you or refer you to someone who can!

Advantages of In-Home Pet Sitting
For Your Pet: In-home pet care eliminates most of the stress your pets may experience when they are away from their family, have a change in feeding routines, or are exposed to new or loud surroundings. Also, if you have lots of pets or have animals that are difficult to board, such as cats, birds, fish, or reptiles, an in-your-home pet sitter is the perfect solution.
For You: Petsitting can be a safer, more convenient, and more economical alternative to kennels, especially if you have multiple pets and/or transporting them is difficult.  As an added bonus, your mail will be brought in, lights rotated, plants watered...in short, your home will look occupied while you're away. You can relax, knowing that your Pet au Pair pet sitter is fully insured, trained, and devoted to taking loving care of your home and animals. As an added security measure, we use a lock box system for your keys.

My Committment
I am committed to caring for your pets and home as you would if you were there. I try not to book an airtight schedule so that I can give your pets any extra time or attention they may need in your absence. I pledge to continually increase my animal knowledge and training so that I can be of greater service to my clients and my community. I continue to network with other pet sitters so that we  can all provide the best and most expedient pet care to New Orleans clients. I am happy to provide client referrals--call them, they'd love to talk with you!

About Kelly
I'm Kelly Broussard Jason, founder of Pet au Pair of New Orleans and a life-long animal advocate/caretaker. I've volunteered my time, energy, and skills to wildlife refuges, zoos, and animal sanctuaries around the country. As a local volunteer, I was honored to exhibit reptiles, birds, and mammals at Audubon Zoo's Wildlife on Stage and educate visitors on wildlife conservation. I also acted as the adoption counselor for Spaymart, a local no-kill cat sanctuary, and was privileged to help feed, medicate, transport, and provide clean pens for 300 shelter cats. It just doesn't get any better than that...or does it?
After a 20-year career in book publishing came to an end against my will, I realized my true calling--being of service to animals--by starting Pet au Pair of New Orleans. Now I get to do what I've most enjoyed doing for more than three decades: lovingly taking care of animals, whether they be strays, pets, or wildlife. I was the Pet Services correspondent for the New Orleans edition of The Examiner.com. You may still check out my columns by clicking the link, although I no longer have time to contribute as a writer. I am also Red Cross-certified in pet CPR and first aid. You can expect professionalism, safety, and integrity when you hire Pet au Pair of New Orleans for your pets' care.
I live in the Irish Channel with my cats Kilo and Momo the Penguin.
